Spent the day wandering around the hotel complex a bit and reading more of the recent Economist issue, occasionally heading back up to the room to watch TV or just rest. Finally got ahold of my brother around 2pm or so, we went out for Yakisoba for a late lunch, then back to the hotel so he and his girlfriend could catch a nap and recover more from the drinking. I think I weathered it better, but he also had at least 2-3 more drinks than I did over the night.
Back out later (8 or 9) for Shabu Shabu in Shinjuku. Very tasty, we stuffed outselves silly and then rolled back to the hotel. Got online in his hotel room to say good morning to the wife and then came back here to write this and go to bed soon. Getting close to midnight here.
For whatever reason my room can't get internet access but his can, probably due to us being in different parts of the hotel that were built at different times. His is essentially a cable modem, seems like a strange way to provide it but I guess it works.
The room is pretty small but fine for what I need. There's a closet with a combo lock, TV, bed, desk, and tiny bathroom.
Yes, Japanese toliets are high tech.
